The Impostor is a free, browser-based social deduction party game designed for in-person play. Players gather in the same room and pass a single device to view their secret roles. The Service requires no account creation, no app download, and no personal data submission. All game data (player names, settings, and preferences) is stored locally in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers.

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by The Impostor and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are our trademarks. You may not use them without our prior written permission. The game concept of social deduction is in the public domain; however, our specific implementation, design, word packs, and branding are proprietary.
The Impostor is a free, ad-supported service. We use Google AdSense (Ad Placement API) to display advertisements that help fund the continued development and maintenance of the game. Certain premium features (additional game modes and theme packs) can be unlocked by watching a short rewarded video ad. You are never required to watch ads to play the core game. As a child-directed site under COPPA, we only serve non-personalized, COPPA-compliant ads. Ad personalization is always disabled. You can manage your ad and cookie preferences through our Cookie Settings.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Impostor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your access to or use of the Service.
